As the US Open gets underway this morning at Chambers Bay Golf Club in Washington, there are some great articles and information, not only about our Spirit alumni playing in the championship, but also the astounding number of amateurs in this years field (16).

Amteurgolf.com wrote a great article detailing each amateur and given that this is a Spirit year, we thought it’s a good idea to not only watch our Spirit alumni, but also check in on the amateurs in the field:

As we usually do, we like to look into the field of the major championships and check out how many Spirit alumni are participating (i.e. made the field) and this years US Open is no different.  For the first time in the history of the 120 year old event, the championship will take place in the pacific northwest, at a “public” golf course: Chambers Bay in University Place, WA.

Here is a list of the Spirit alumni, that we will be following closely:

George Coetzee-South Africa
Jason Day-Australia
Martin Kaymer-Germany
Joost Luiten-Netherlands
Ben Martin-USA
Francesco Molinari-Italy
Cheng-Tsung Pan
Sam Saunders-USA
Charl Scwartzel-South Africa
Brandt Snedeker-USA
Jordan Spieth-USA
Danny Willett-England

As always, we wish all the competitors good luck this week and look forward to a great championship.  For more information and complete coverage, go here:
