Anchored by Beau Hossler and Spirit Player, Scottie Scheffler, the University of Texas won’s it’s 7th title of the season at the NCAA Lubbock Regional. They will now move onto the National championship ranked as the #3 seed by GolfWeek rankings.

Clement Sordet, 2011 Spirit Player for France, shared the individual title with Blair Hamilton of Houston.

Top-seeded Texas tops field: What a run Texas is on.

The Longhorns’ victory Saturday at the NCAA Lubbock (Texas) Regional marked their seventh team title of the season and sixth win in their past seven events. The only other time Texas has won seven or more times in a season was during the 2011-12 season when the Longhorns won eight tournaments, including a national title.

Texas closed with a 9-under 275 to finish 54 holes at 22-under 830, four shots clear of Texas Tech, which was playing on its home course, The Rawls Course. The Longhorns, ranked third by Golfweek, placed two sophomores and two freshmen in the top 11, including sophomore Gavin Hall, who finished in third place at 7-under 206, a shot back of co-medalists Blair Hamilton of Houston and Clement Sordet of Texas Tech.

Sophomore Beau Hossler tied for fourth at 5 under while freshmen Doug Ghim and Scottie Scheffler, finished T-7 and T-11, respectively.
