Congratulations to Zac Blair for winning the Pacific Northwest Amateur this weekend. Zach is a junior at BYU, and defeated Tyler Raber 5 and 4 on Saturday, July 16th to win the scheduled 36-hole championship.
Blair actually bogeys the first hole of the day, getting off to a rocky start. But then he gathered himself together and birdied the third hole to get the match back to even. Raber, a senior at UC David, would not lead again. Blair would take a 2-up lead when he won holes 9 and 10 and was up 4 shots after 18 holes. The event was held at Tetherow Golf Club in Bend, Oregon.
Blair plans to play again this month in the Pacific Coast Amateur on July 26-29.
